Hi! It's good to be back.
I haven't been to this site for so long, checking in every month or two, but it didn't work... :-(
Anyway, I'm back, and I'm still waiting for a new update for Windows XP I couldn't play the game ever since I got WinXP, right after the first contest.
Please, ChronLog, Help me!!!

a. Thanks for the link.
b. I've got XP for a long time now, and this is the first game that doesn't work.
c. What other thread? I probably opened it a long time ago...

If you have not been able to run Pontifex since you got windows XP you probably still just need OpenGL drivers for windows XP.  I dont think that Chroniclogic is going to be writing any video drivers for you, so you should probably look for help from the company that makes your video card.  What kind of card is it?

If it helps at all, I'm happily running the current version on WinXP using a GeForce 2 MX based card (Asus). I have reports from friends of it working using both Microsoft and vendor specific drivers (I use nVidia detonator drivers, a friend uses Microsoft's Matrox drivers).

Performance seems to be acceptable on both machines.

I've got games that use OpenGL and run perfectly well... Maybe it's because of my Voodoo 3 card, which is quite old...

I assume you tried GLSetup? 3dfx drivers?

P.S. This should be moved to the Problems thread.

Klei,

In the previous thread you started on this topic, which you put in the right forum, Mendel said:

"You have to download and install manufacturer drivers for your graphics card. Windows XP does not support hardware OpenGL acceleration out of the box. Seems Billyboy does not like OpenGL, prefers directX."

This is true.  Microsoft does not like OpenGL.  When it says it support it, all it means is that it will run it in software mode.  They do this so that Direct3D looks really fast in comparison if you don't get the correct drivers.

GLSetup can be found at http://www.glsetup.com.

Seemed like a good thread to say "hi" on... I've been so busy with school, and I had the same problem with the site being down.  I don't have much time, I don't even have time to work on a contest entry, but I just wanted to swing by and see what was going on without my presence... Hopefully you'll see more of me this summer.
