Help on level 5-3?

On level 5-3, there are a bunch of U-shaped tunnels with slippery walls on one side where, AFAICT, the goal is to zoom down one side really fast and hope that you reach the top on the other side.  This level has me so frustrated I'm starting to regret spending money on this game, though no doubt that feeling will pass once I've figured it out.

How do I do this level?  I managed to get past the first few in about half an hour of trying, but then got to an extra-high one that I can't even come close to getting through.  What's the trick?

Lets first take a look at what Gish can do:

- Move. Arrow keys move him a little. That's why you can move around in the air and in water.
- Roll. Depends on the angle to the surface Gish currently hits and arrow keys.

- Slick. Gish becomes slippery and deforms easily.
- Sticky. Stick to almost everything.
- Expand/jump. It's nothing but getting into a loose triangular shape and being a bit bouncy.
- Heavy: A strong triangular shape, and higher mass.

It's not like most other games. Gish has very basic actions, which allow you to do much more when combined with the realistic physics. Take advantage of it.

Thomas, have you had any luck finishing that level yet? I came here in search of a solution but after playing with it for a little while I've worked it out. If your still stuck I'll give you some hints.

Yeah, I figured it out.  For some reason, "slick" never occurred to me...

there is a secret in that level that drops you down that last tube thing.  usually i hit slick too early and i get "squished" and die.  kinda sucks.

In the meantime I got the perfect score, but without a screenshot... Or if I maybe made one, it probably resides somewhere in a mess of well over 10 GB.

can someone give any specifics to this please?
i've been trying to do this over and over again but either i get squished to death at the bottom of the U or i just don't slide high enough ;/

You need to use heavy and slippery to get enough momentum on the way down and then switch to jump and slippery to protect you from getting hurt on the way up the other side.  It can be pretty tricky.  Also hold down to get more momentum on the way down and hold the up key on the way up the other side.

Actually you go down the tube by holding D(heavy)+S(slide)+D-arrow, then Hold S+Up-Arrow(let go of D)
