Try turning off your sound in the hardware configuration.  It could be a sound related problem, if that does not make any difference try updating your OpenGL drivers if you have not already.

Pontifex crashes lots while testing bridges.  It has never crashed anywhere but test mode.  And it always happens when a bridge collapes.  I have a TNT2 M64, 1.2 GHz, and 128 megs of RAM.  Is the game just crashing because my graphics card can't handle all the complex calculations?  Or is there something else that might be wrong?
