Finished it after about 2 hours of playing... Definitely harder than the original 32 levels... I'd even say it requires some hardcore tactics ;)
What I didn't like is that those huge levels (15, 16) make the game really slow on my system (Celeron 566@850, 192 RAM, Voodoo3 3000)... This way, Pontifex is about as CPU/hardware-intensive as some modern FPS games... I understand this most probably can't be helped, but the huge jump from the BB system requirements to those of Pfx is really ...umm... HUGE? ;)

Well if it doesn't work on hard then its not worth it. I'll just keep trying. It'll make me just that much more happy that i figured it out on my own. ':)'

jah.  jump large.

ver cool tho.

it isn't the graphics, its that every member you put in has some 20 peices, and the cpu has to process the stress on each one of those pieces like 100 times a sec . . . .  im suprised mine hasn't melted yet.

BEUTIFUL, tho . .

i have exams next week, so i don't have much play time . . i on lvl 6.  def. better than origanal . . i especially like #1 . . the valley tyupe deal . . .

mmm, tasty.

Agreed, I like solving them on my own too. The warm fuzzy feeling you get is worth the hours(?) you spend on it. Sorry about it not working on hard, never thought to try, not very surprised though.

Level 11 is the coolest IMO (at least my solution is pretty spectacular, but I think any solution to that level is).
What's weird is that my bridge on level 13 EXACTLY fits the budget - ... I can't come up with another (cheaper?) one... Could it be that level was intended to be solved exactly the way I did it? ;)

Why did everyone have such a hard time with level 5? I got it bang on first shot on hard at 58988 (no breaks).

It's simple... I'm going to draw a crappy ASCII diagram.

I might play around with it soon and see if there's a cheaper way.

here's my rather unimpressive solution for level 5. right click on the link and say save target as to download the save and put it in your pontifex/bridges directory http://krazykvinge.tripod.com/kvinge1.pxb

You can trick tripod:
Go to http://krazykvinge.tripod.com
and then download http://krazykvinge.tripod.com/kvinge1.pxb

BTW, that solution doesn't even work on hard ':)'

Level 5 was one of the most challenging ones, and the solution i found is definitely my favourite of the MapPack 1.

I got it at 47848$. It gets well stressed, but it survives with 0 broken links. I can make it a lot more solid at 49768$.

If anyone wants the bridge file, i can email it to you, send me a msg at alcorrr@icqmail.com.
I don't have any hosting right now, but i ordered internet through cable and i think that comes with some web space, so i'll put all my solutions up in a week or two.
