It depends if your a gambler or not, I suppose... in past competitions I've always plumped for a bridge that works with any delay.

This time I think I might go for the risky option ;-) especially since there doesn't seem to be a safe one!

Problem solved!

Solution: find brain, insert brain into head, use brain.

So I was just trying Pontifex out on my other machine at work (a P3), and when I went to try 100 passes I realised the difficulty setting right next to that was at "medium". I put it on "hard" and lo and behold, the bridge broke just like at home! It's been so long since I installed it at home that I'd forgotten about the default difficulty setting option!

So there wasn't a problem after all, except that I'm stupid ':)'

Unfortunately it does mean that my really cool ๩k bridge is useless, lol

I can't remember exactly as I'm at work at the level is at home, but it's about ๰k. If the train driver were to eat an extra muffin for breakfast, the bridge would break ':)'

Well, you're still smarter than me. I can't solve the level yet at any price!(of course, I did download this game literally yesterday) Although I am working on a promising suspension idea and a promising "dome" idea.

Argonut: Dont worry, the 89k would not get you the Maximus, unless my bridge doesnt get enough settling time when  they test it -
I decided to risk that and just sent in my cheapest approach ':)'
