I am running 1.37 under linux (ubuntu 8.10). I can successfully load and play BCS (thanks for a nice linux game!) But BCS forgets my profile and registration information so I have to reenter the information next time. This happens every time, I have tried different install directories (~/Bridge Construction Set, /usr/local/bin).

What is supposed to happen? Where is the registration information stored?

Thanks.

I am pretty sure it will be stored in your $HOME directory.  Which you should have write permission in obviously.  It should create a folder in your home directory called Bridge Construction Set, check and see if it is there.

Thank you very much. In fact I had a permissions problem (I must have first installed the game as root, because permissions on $HOME/Bridge\ Construction\ Set were root:root). That was the problem. It works now.

I appreciate the quick response.
